Are you curious about what your experience will be like when you join us? The following section introduces student accommodation in the first year of the program. Further details about student life on campus will be shared when available.
As a first-year student of UTokyo Design, you will be one of 100 learners in the community. As part of the program, all first-year UTokyo Design students will live in Mejirodai International Village (MIV), home to around 800 students and international researchers coming from across UTokyo. There, you will live on the same floor as UTokyo Design students from across Japan and around the world. You will experience different cultures and discover global perspectives day by day.
UTokyo Design students will live in all-gender accommodation. Each student will have their own private room, providing personal space anytime. There will be shared facilities (kitchen, toilets, and shower rooms) which will be cleaned regularly. We also plan to introduce gender-specific spaces, for those who may need them.
MIV is student and researcher accommodation located about 40 minutes by train from campus.
The accommodation fee is approximately 88,000 JPY per month, including internet and utilities (electricity, gas, and water).
All first-year students will live at Mejirodai International Village. From the second year onwards, students may apply to continue living in the same accommodation or seek private housing.
