Off Campus Experience
In your fourth year, you will immerse yourself in a company or an international organization through an internship, either in Japan or elsewhere around the world. This is your chance to step outside the classroom for about half-a-year and experience workplace dynamics firsthand. The opportunity the internship brings is the chance to apply the design methods and diverse academic insights you have developed to potentially spark positive transformation from within the organization.
Working alongside professionals, you’ll engage in different challenges, develop your ability to think creatively, and try out different ways to tackle them. As you do, you will begin to build confidence, improve your communication, and strengthen your leadership skills. These experiences will help you understand yourself better — your interests, your strengths, and the kind of work environment that motivates you. Whether you’re curious about opportunities abroad, interested in global teamwork, or exploring a less traditional path, your internship will give you fresh perspectives and help you take thoughtful steps toward your future.
